A postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Pharmacology of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo, Brazil, to join a research project on resilience and vulnerability to stress-induced emotional disorders during neurodevelopment.
Postdoctoral Position – University of São Paulo, Brazil
The Department of Pharmacology of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo, Brazil, is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position within the project:
“Resilience and vulnerability to stress-induced emotional disorders during neurodevelopment: the role of neuroinflammation.”
The project aims to investigate the long-term behavioral and neuroinflammatory consequences of exposing rats and mice to neonatal stressors, with a particular focus on anxiety and panic.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have proven prior experience in the following areas:
- Use of neonatal stressors.
- Breeding and sexing of neonatal rats/mice.
- Handling neonatal rodents.
- Behavioral analyses in models of anxiety, panic and/or depression.
- Dissection of brain structures in neonatal and adult rats/mice.
- Morphological and molecular processing and analysis techniques, including multiplex assays, western blot, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence/confocal microscopy.
Applicants should be close to completing their doctoral studies or hold a doctoral degree obtained within the last seven years.

Fellowship
The position is open to candidates of all nationalities.
The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship of R$ 12,570.00 per month, plus a research reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
