The organizing committee invites the entire neuroscience community to submit symposium proposals for the upcoming FALAN 2026 Congress, to be held in Santiago, Chile, from August 31st to September 3rd, 2026.

Guidelines for Symposium Proposals:
- Proposals should align with the general scientific themes of interest to FALAN.
- Each symposium must have a Chairperson, who will serve as the main coordinator and organizer. The Chair may also participate as a speaker, or choose to serve solely as moderator.
- The Symposium will be 2 hours long and should include 3 to 4 speakers.
- All symposium participants are expected to take part in at least one social or outreach activity organized during the congress (e.g., Meet the Expert sessions).
- Prior to the proposal submission, it is required that the proponent obtain email confirmation from all speakers that they agree to attend the meeting in person.
- Applicants are responsible for securing funding to cover travel and accommodation expenses. FALAN will consider requests for registration fee waivers on a case-by-case basis. We strongly encourage applicants to explore external funding opportunities, such as the IBRO Speaker Support program, Applications: 1 Sep 2025 – 30 Sep 2025. https://ibro.org/grant/speaker-support/
- Priority will be given to proposals that:
- Include speakers from different countries.
- Include at least one speaker currently residing outside of Latin America.
- Demonstrate gender balance.
- Feature the participation of early-career researchers (within 7 years of completing their last postdoctoral stage)

- Full name, institutional affiliation, and country of residence.
- Tentative title of their presentation.
- Confirmation of participation (attach acceptance email if available).
- Link to institutional web page
- Justification of Diversity: Explanation of how the proposal promotes geographical diversity, gender balance, and the inclusion of early-career researchers.
- Financial Support: Indicate if there is external funding available or plans to request support for symposium-related expenses.
- Materials for Promotion: Provide a representative image and a brief description for promoting the symposium on the congress website and social media platforms (optional).
- Commitment to Ethical Standards: Declaration that all participants will adhere to FALAN code of conduct.
