Technological Facilities in Latin-America

Dear FALAN members,

As mentioned in a previous communication, we intend to launch a forum in the FALAN Networking Platform on the subject of “Technological Facilities in Latin-America”. The idea is to collect information on technological facilities that can be used by regional scientists in order to facilitate collaboration and promote the exchange of experiences on the use of specific equipment.

In the vibrant field of neuroscience, the pace of discovery is often paralleled by the technological advancements that enable it. Yet, across our diverse and dynamic region, a comprehensive understanding of the infrastructure available to support such research remains elusive. Recognizing this, FALAN proposes an initiative to bridge this gap: the creation of a centralized database detailing the technological facilities available within Latin America for neuroscience research. This initiative aims to unveil and make accessible a wealth of information that, until now, has been fragmented or undisclosed. By compiling data on the latest equipment, resources, and their associated costs into a user-friendly repository, we would not only facilitate the seamless exchange of experiences among scientists but also significantly enhance the potential for regional collaboration. Our goal is that this database will serve as a catalyst, accelerating research development across our region by ensuring that vital technological resources are identified, shared, and utilized to their fullest potential. We aim to create a resource that will catalyze new collaborations, enhance the efficiency of existing projects, significantly reduce operational costs, and eliminate the need for researchers to look beyond our region or travel to the northern hemisphere to find equipment that might be available just within our borders. FALAN is uniquely positioned to spearhead this project, embodying our collective commitment to advancing neuroscience through collaboration and shared innovation.

In essence, this initiative will make it exponentially easier for FALAN members to swiftly locate and utilize the technology needed for their research, fostering a more interconnected and resource-efficient scientific community. It represents a step towards a more integrated, collaborative, and technologically empowered regional research environment.

We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about our initiative among your members. To facilitate this, we kindly request that you share the following form with your society members so they can provide the necessary information. The form will remain accessible to allow for ongoing updates and additions. Subsequently, we will build a dedicated platform housing this information to ensure easy access and streamlined communication. Additionally, we will establish a dedicated forum space to facilitate the exchange of information among participants.

Your cooperation in this endeavor is invaluable, and we look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals.

We would like you to send us information on resources available in your country and all the possible links related. We then will build a dedicated platform with this information so that the access and the contact will be easily accessible. In parallel, we will create a dedicated space, a forum, where the interchange of information will be facilitated.
