ALBA Network has initiated a new award – the ALBA-Elsevier Award Lecture on Brain Sciences.
As an ALBA Member, we kindly ask you to disseminate this information further (via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and strongly encourage eligible candidates within your institutional networks to apply for this award using the promotional text below.
This award aims to highlight outstanding research by an active neuroscientist, at any career stage PhD or MD onwards, working in a country underrepresented among neuroscience publications and conferences. This excludes applications from individuals working in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA. In addition to receiving an honorarium, the awardee will have the opportunity to present a short lecture at an international neuroscience conference, that will be aired on the ALBA Virtual Platform, advertised by ALBA and by Elsevier. You will find more information on the application requirements here.
The call for nominations is open until August 30th.
Since this is the first such award initiated by ALBA for research achievements from underrepresented groups, together with ALBA members, we would like to maximise the reach of this call, ensure its success and set a good precedent for the years to come. We believe this award will not only highlight the individual’s scientific excellence but also support regional diversity and increase the visibility of the scientist and their institution.
Nominations must be submitted through this online form by 30 August 2021 (23:59 CET) at the latest.
