SfN+IBRO: International Society Member (ISM) slots

We are thrilled to announce the call for applications for the International Society Member (ISM) abstract slots, an exclusive opportunity for you to submit an abstract and register for Neuroscience 2024, Society for Neuroscience’s annual meeting at the SfN member rate. 

ISM Slots 

The International Society Member (ISM) abstract slots, provided by the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and administered by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), offer international opportunities for submitting abstracts for Neuroscience 2024  and registering at the SfN member rate, benefiting individuals with limited resources to join the meeting and encouraging increased participation among under-resourced countries.

Call for applications

A definite number of interested participants will receive a unique code from IBRO on a first-come, first-served basis that they will subsequently use when submitting their abstracts.

Following the abstract submission, individuals with ISM slot codes are recorded into SfN’s registration system and may then receive the benefit of registering at the meeting starting from 16 July 2024 at an SfN member rate.

The call for the ISM slot applications for Neuroscience 2024 opens on 7 April and closes on 7 May 2024.

IBRO will assign ISM slots on a rolling basis every week during this application period, which will allow ISM slot recipients to submit their abstracts from 23 April to 7 May 2024.

Eligibility

Master’s and PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from under-resourced countries are prioritized, followed by individuals in Category I, II, and III countries of the regions as defined by the World Bank.

Individuals who are SfN members are not eligible to receive and utilize an ISM code as part of their abstract submission and registration to the meeting.
